Code the Future is a hands-on, year-round AI literacy program and learning platform for kids ages 8–11 in Louisville, Kentucky. Kids learn what artificial intelligence really is by using it through game-like missions and in-person sessions at the public library.

The current live program is designed for kids ages 8 to 11. Young-teen and adult tracks are also forming; you can join those interest lists on the enrollment page.

Each module is $75, and the four-module journey is $225, a $75 savings. A $10 deposit holds a fall seat and is fully credited toward tuition.

The journey begins Monday, September 28, 2026. The hands-on Louisville sessions meet on Saturdays October 3, 10, and 17, followed by Demo Day on October 24.

Kids meet for hands-on sessions at the Louisville public library, then continue with game-like missions at home on the Code the Future platform.

No experience is needed. Missions start at the beginning and build step by step, so total beginners are right at home.

Kids join with a cohort code and no child email is required. Cohort chat passes through a profanity filter and is visible to staff, there are no ads, and the curriculum was shaped with a child psychologist. Read the full privacy policy.

Yes. Rather than watching videos about technology, kids use real AI tools in a safe, guided setting—to recognize drawings, test ideas, and build projects.

Kids learn what AI is and how it works through patterns, prediction, and training. They also practice asking good questions, spotting wrong answers, deciding when a human should stay in charge, and building with AI responsibly. See the curriculum.

A tablet or laptop with internet access. The platform runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install.

Sessions are led by an industry operator. Code the Future was founded by Jon Nichols and Kenya Guarnieri, a child psychologist; both are Louisville parents.
